Take the Challenge
I really enjoyed watching the athletes compete in the commonwealth Games on TV. I’d like to introduce you to athlete, Lucy van Dalen. She knows all about meeting challenges head on. She has had many years of dedicated training and competitions to prepare her for selection into the NZ team that
went to Glasgow. Lucy not only has used her gifts as a fast runner, but she developed her skills with God’s help. Yes, Lucy is a Christian and loves to tell others how God helps her in everything she does.
I love how God has changed my heart from being a stubborn ‘twelvie’ who really did not want to go to Girls’ Brigade, to being National Youth Rep for Girls’ Brigade New Zealand. I am honoured that I can be a role model to all the girls in Girls’ Brigade and IFG. I’m praying that God enables me to be a good influence for you all. I am Sarah Millar, your Girls’ Brigade National Youth Representative for 2014/2015. I am excited to be in this role and I am enjoying every moment of it.

GBNZ Goes to Perth!
At first it was overwhelming, being surrounded by all these contrasting cultures but very quickly, it began to feel like family. Regardless of how different our lives were, we all had something in common – we are all GBers. It was awesome to hear how GB works in some of these countries. In July I had the privilege of attending ICGB in Australia. ICGB is the International Conference of Girls’ Brigade and was held over 8 days in Perth. And what an awesome week! There were 300 ladies representing GB from 27 different countries.
